After Hours Care

All our Physicians are member of a Family Health Organization[FHO] which ensures 24/7 coverage for our rostered patients.

Initial contact is through Telephone Health Advisory Service [THAS] triage nurse, who has immediate access to the on call Physician for our group.

During the evenings, weekends (including Long Weekends/ Holidays) medical assistance may be accessed by dialing 1 866 553 7205. The nurse will ask you about your problem and advise:

to go to the Emergency room, immediately, if there might be a serious cause,
give some advice for simpler issues, or
call the Doctor on call to set up a same day clinic appointment, or receive their advice.

The Physicians who are members of our FHO are at five different locations in Kitchener-Waterloo.

If you have an urgent matter on Wednesday from 12-5 or Friday from 12-5 please call our office number at: 519-578-4450 and listen to the message for details of the doctor on call who's office you can call directly.

NOTE: THAS nurses are now also the nurses who respond to 811 inquiries (previously telehealth: a general advice service open to all Ontarians). Do not let them turn you away when you ask to see the on-call doctor. Explain you are part of Synergy Family Health Organization (FHO) and there is a doctor on call to see you if appropriate based on triage assessment.
